Privacy Policy

How Searchgasm handles your information, browser storage, and third-party services.

Introduction

Searchgasm ("we," "us," or "our") operates a search engine for discovering Reddit audio posts. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the site and how that information is handled.

This policy applies to your use of Searchgasm at the URLs where it is hosted. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.

Adult Content

Searchgasm indexes and helps you discover sexually explicit audio content intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use the site. Before entering, you are asked to confirm that you meet this age requirement. That confirmation is stored locally in your browser and is not verified against any identity provider.

Data We Do Not Collect

Searchgasm does not require an account, login, or registration. We do not operate user profiles on a server.

The site does not include analytics trackers (such as Google Analytics, PostHog, or similar services) in its application code. Searchgasm does not set cookies in your browser.

  • No account creation or authentication
  • No server-side storage of your library favorites, saved searches, or preferences
  • No in-app analytics or advertising identifiers
  • No cookies set by the Searchgasm application

Information Stored in Your Browser

To improve your experience, the site stores certain preferences and data locally on your device using browser storage. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to a Searchgasm backend as part of normal browsing.

The following localStorage keys may be used:

  • isAgeVerified — whether you confirmed you are 18 or older
  • searchgasm-favorites — favorite tags, favorite authors, starred queries, saved search presets, favorited audio post IDs, and Save for Later post IDs you create
  • searchgasm-audio-muted — whether audio playback is muted
  • theme — your light, dark, or ultra-dark theme preference
  • darkMode — legacy theme flag, migrated to the theme key when present

Offline Catalog Cache

The site caches catalog data in your browser using IndexedDB (database name: "searchgasm-catalog"). This cache can be large and is used to speed up search. It is not synced to a Searchgasm server.

You can remove this cache by clearing site data for Searchgasm in your browser settings.

Search URLs and Sharing

Your active search query, filters, pagination, and sort options are reflected in the page URL (for example, query text, author, date range, and page number). This makes searches bookmarkable and shareable.

If you copy or share a URL, anyone with that link can see the search terms and filters encoded in it. Be mindful of what you share, especially on shared or public devices.

Third-Party Services

When you use certain features, your browser may contact third-party services. Those services have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

  • Reddit — when post metadata is fetched at view or playback time, your browser requests data from Reddit through a Searchgasm proxy. Reddit may log requests according to its own policies.
  • Soundgasm — inline audio playback streams audio through a Searchgasm proxy from Soundgasm-hosted URLs. Soundgasm may log requests according to its own policies.
  • Google Fonts — the site loads the Inter typeface from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which may receive your IP address and browser information.
  • Cloudflare — the site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process connection metadata as part of providing hosting and security services.

Your Choices and Controls

Because most data is stored locally, you can remove it at any time through your browser settings:

  • Clear site data or localStorage to reset age verification, library favorites (tags, authors, searches, audios, Save for Later), theme, and mute preferences
  • Clear IndexedDB or all site data to remove the catalog cache
  • Use private browsing if you do not want data persisted between sessions
  • Avoid sharing URLs if you do not want others to see your search terms

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Searchgasm after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
